Cut the stress of lost luggage with some tips to help you keep hold of your bags. With a little planning – and luck – you won’t need to call on your travel insurance to replace lost luggage. Remember that trip cancellation insurance with baggage included can also protect you from financial loss.
Pick a bright color for your luggage but make it distinctive – you will be surprised how many red and blue bags there are on the carousels. Attach a bright colored scarf or ribbons to your case so you can easily identify it when it comes to collect your baggage.
Take a photo of your bags. This can be a great help to airline staff if they are trying to locate your bag in amongst thousands of others. You can also use it to make a claim on your < trip cancellation insurance if the bag never turns up.
Don’t stick to one luggage tag – use two or three, and put your name, home address and phone number on them. Put a piece of paper with this information inside your bag on top of your clothes, just in case all the tags go missing.
